Crispy sweet apples, nutty walnuts, and more all on a bed of fresh greens make this the best fall salad recipe of the year!
Fall Salad Recipe with Apples
Fall salads with apples are one of the quintessential fall cooking recipes everyone needs. September shares the beginning of autumn and the apple harvest season. So it’s no wonder we all feel drawn to the crispy sweetness that apples bring.
For this recipe, I used red fuji apples, but any red apple will do. However, I would stay away from green apples because they tend to be a tad bit sour. The sourness of the green apple may not blend well with the other ingredients in the salad.
Fall Harvest Salad Ingredients
Not sure what to put in your fall salad? No worries! Below I’ve compiled a list of my favorite fruits and veggies to toss in an autumn salad. Salads are a great way to eat foods that are in season. Indulging in fresh fruit and veggies during their peak harvest season is truly the best way to enjoy them.

Salad Dressing for Autumn Salad
All the ingredients in this fall salad have very distinct flavors that work very well together. I wanted something sweet but with a hint of sour to balance everything. I was looking for a recipe that contained a sweetener like honey or maple. Plus, it needed a kick of lemon or apple cider vinegar.
After testing a few salad dressing recipes, I settled on this one.
